Airtime credit transfer

Hi guys,

Quick question - I have a large balance on my PAYG account and am wondering if I moved to any of the below and keep my number, can this can be transferred to either;

1) Pay Monthly (Sim Only)

2) Voxi

3) Talkmobile (a Vodafone owned MVNO)

Here is the information I've found on Vodafone Support Pages >

From Payg > Can-I-transfer-credit-to-a-different-number. 

" Can I transfer credit to a different number?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to transfer any existing credit from one number to another. "

However If your changing your contract type from Payg to Pay Monthly with Vodafone and retaining the same mobile number then any remaining credit will be moved over to the new pay Monthly contract. 👍 

A recent thread discussing this and confirmed by a Vodafone Social Media Team Member > Pay-as-you-go/Switching-from-PAYG-to-Pay-Monthly. 

You'd have to check about moving to a MVNO but my thoughts are that because they have their own internal infrastructure and only using Vodafones cell network it wouldn't be possible to transfer credit in that instance.

For official clarification please don't hesitate to contact Customer Services on 191 , Live Chat or the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook Messenger or Twitter DM.

Other than that just use up the remaining credit before you start the process of changing.

This is probably one for the Vodafone peeps though - if I was to move to PAYM Sim Only, could I take out a deal with a 3rd party such as Carphone Warehouse and then transfer my number and credit onto the new sim that CPW would provide?

It does mention on this link How do I switch between Pay monthly and Pay as you go?  @simax you need to choose the plan you want and will need to use any PAYG credit before the number moves.

If it is possible to use PAYG credit towards a pay monthly bill as an incentive to make the change, the information needs to be amended on the support link.

Thanks for the reply - the other alternative is to request a refund of the credit when it disconnects and then pay that manually onto the new PAYM account? Is that feasible?

Good morning @simax - thanks for your patience whilst we double-checked that 🙂

Any remaining credit from your Pay as you go number would be moved over to the Vodafone Pay monthly account - you'd usually see this on your first or second bill 👍
