Being charged when i havent used my phone

I keep getting texts saying I have unlimited calls, texts blah blah for the rest of day as I have used my mobile data when I haven't. This phone is an emergency phone, it rarely gets used so why am I getting charged? The mobile data has never been turned on and I've never made a call from this phone. Today the phone thinks I texted someone when the phone was in the house by itself, its so dumb. How do I stop this?

This is a little strange @Rasendra. If you hadn't mentioned your data being switched off on the phone, the data being used could be an app updating in the background. Obviously, this wouldn't explain the erroneous text message. When you've used the phone, are you sure you've not signed up to any subscription services? These can show as charges for texts in your usage.
