Cannot receive SMS in Malaysia

I bought the one pound SIM card from a off license store and post it to my friend in Malaysia. The SIM card cannot receive SMS. What to do to sort it?

Hey @matikongkiao. To make sure that we're on the same page, did you put the Pay as you go SIM in a device and allowed it to connect to the Vodafone UK network before sending the SIM to your friend in Malaysia?
