Hi everyone,
It's super annoying and it is happening all the time.
So, I am abroad in Germany and whenever I want to top up my balance I get this error:
Getting this error message when trying to top up my card: 500, RC45C0 - [Error ref 1w0]
It's happening literally every time, and the app is useless when I have a balance of £0 as it only works with mobile data on.
This exactly happened last time I was trying to top up.
My card is being chard (Yes, I used an alternative card) but I get the error mentioned above and balance stays at £0.
I always have to jump on a call or chat with customer support to have it fixed.
Is anyone else experiencing something similar?
Is there a workaround? Is it because I am not in the UK?

Roaming is only meant for a limited period of time and with the changing of the UK being in the eu Vodafone UK are clamping down on people who appear to be permanently roaming and can be applying such new terms and conditions and costs.
Vodafone accepts UK bank cards for topping up so yes being abroad can cause such issues.
Do you know anyone in the UK who can periodically buy a top up voucher and send you it.

Next time when I am topping up my balance, I will try my UK HSBC card instead of Revolut.

The only way to top up from abroad is online using a UK registered credit or debit card or by using PayPal here: Top up
If you have repeatedly tried with the same card, Vodafone may have put a temporary block on the card but this usually clears after a few days, it is also a good idea to have a word with your bank just to make sure there is not a problem with the card.
There are also the questions of how long it has been since you last used the phone and added credit, as well as Vodafone identifying customers who are permanently roaming but you should have received a text notification before disconnection.
