How to make a 'chargeable' activity while for a longer period abroad.

Can someone advise if there is any way to make a chargeable activity without using 8 day passess etc as these simply don't count as 'chargeable' at least VF system does not recognize them.

Is there anything else? I am not able to make a call or send a text without buying these passes.

Does anyone know how to make a simple call from Payg while abroad?

Don't shoot the messenger @username25 .  Unfortunately, to be able to make any chargeable call in a EU country on PAYG you will need an extra.  This is something Vodafone make clear on this link from the website Roaming

thanks AnnS, is there anything on their website that clearly states that buying an extra (and sending a text or calling someone subsequently) counts towards a 'chargeable'  activity?
