Lebara - using up data too quickly?

Has anyone noticed that their data is being used up way too quickly on Lebara (who use Vodafone)? I used to be with Tesco (O2) and would use 10-11GB a month, switched to Lebara and now I’m close to 1GB every day… I don’t think I’ve changed my usage in any way.

Is it possible that a different network uses more data? I have 10GB left for 19 days (having already topped up once) so am thinking of switching…

Thank you

Hi @cringe91. Most often, mobile data is used up in one of three categorised ways: Emails/texts/direct messages, web browsing and apps (Likely the biggest data users on your phone). Although Lebara use the Vodafone network in the UK, we would recommend getting in touch with Lebara directly regarding this.

Just a side note, Lebara do have a blog post titled 'How to Make Your Phone’s Data Last Longer' that's perhaps worth checking out. Also, most smartphones have an in-built data monitor which will show you where you’re using the most data - instructions depend on the make and model of your device.

I had the same issue recently and got fed up with text messages advising I was close to my data limit so phoned Lebara and was advised that I need to switch data off on my phone otherwise any WIFI usage will also be recorded against data. Only switch Data on if no Wi-Fi available. I was given 5Gb because of my call.

Hi there, yes I noticed as well, I am with Lebara for couple of years with 5G data and never ran out of data but recently ( about 3 months) I noticed that my data runs out too quickly considering no changes to my data usage, even less maybe.

So I changed my contract to 6G but still running out by the end of the month and now I am suspicious and considering to change my provider.
