Hi,
Just a quick question.
I am planning to swap my sim as I have upgraded my phone.
I just wondered if I needed to register the new sim before I perform the swap?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi @Arnak
When you do a SIM swap you are transferring your number to a different SIM and you will need to activate the replacement SIM. No need to register, the information will be on the SIM swap you complete and submit. When you log onto your online account , you should be able to see the new SIM information from there.
Please see this link it will explain the procedure, there is also a SIM swap link at the top for you to actrivate the new SIM: SIM swap

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.8-))
Sorry, I am being dense...
So I should activate the new sim before performing the swap, I am just confused as that will activate the sim with a new number, before the swap, is that correct?

Hi,
It appears that my new sim is not recognized .8-((
So I will need a new sim but how do I order one as the chat line does not work and I can't seem to contact anyone at Vodaphone due to the virus.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks,
Martin

Hi @Arnak
The new repacement SIM should have been sent to you by Vodafone and it will need to be a plain blank numberless PAYG SIM. You then complete the SIM swap form on the link in my first reply, this will transfer the number to new SIM.
If you are having problems please speak to the Social Media Team here: Contact Us for Account Specific Enqiries

Hi,
Aha, that is clearly the problem.
I could not get hold f Vodaphone so I brought a pay as you go sim which came with a number so that clearly will not work.8-((
I'll try the Social Media Team for a new sim.
Thanks for the help.

Hi @Arnak
May I assune your current Sim won't fit in the new phone ?
If not please check that your current sim isn't a multi sim where different sizes can be pushed out of each other.
i.e
You can see the lines around each sim size.

Hi,
thanks for the reply.
No, it's the correct size just not a blank one, my mistake.
