Hi,
I'm at the end of a 24-month Red 100GB contract with a handset (Galaxy S22 Ultra) which is currently charged at £43.20 per month (after a £4 discount off-plan). I've received a text from Vodafone about upgrading or switching to sim-only in a new 24-month contract but my question is in the mean time if I wanted to stay on a rolling monthly contract (sim-only) since the price of the handset/device has now been paid off, will this be deducted from my monthly price? I didn't receive any communication about this option and assume it won't be automatic since the contract has now ended 2 days ago but I would like to know if it is an option before making a decision. Thanks

Hi @sam90uk. It would depend on what type of contract you have. If you purchased your Samsung device on one of our EVO plans, your monthly payment will be split into two parts. You’ll have one Direct Debit for your Device Plan (phone) and one for your Airtime Plan (SIM). When you've paid off your Device Plan, your loan agreement for it will be satisfied and no further payments will be taken. After this, we'll only take payment for your Airtime Plan. You can find more information regarding this on our Vodafone EVO web page.
If you're not on an EVO plan and you pay for both your phone and SIM together as one cost, the price won't decrease when your contract ends. It'll continue as normal until you tell us what you'd like to do. I would recommend logging into your My Vodafone to check the expiry of any discounts too.

Hi @Jason thanks for the clear explanation. I don't have an EVO plan so indeed it does seem like I am still being charged the full monthly price after the contract expiry. One other question: if I take out a new sim-only plan via an external retailer instead of upgrading directly with Vodafone would I still be able to add it to my account and keep the Vodafone together discount I get for having both broadband and phone with Vodafone?

The SIM only contract has to be taken out directly with Vodafone @sam90uk , this is something Vodafone are explicit about on the FAQ's here Vodafone Together

There's a popular misconception that contracts "expire" - the natural consequence is that the service associated with said (fixed-term) contract also expires and your phones are cut-off.
What you have is an open-ended rolling contract with a minimum-term.
