Can you divert a UK Talkmobile (Vodafone) number to a French mobile number?

I am going on holiday to France for 90 days in the summer. I transferred from Vodafone to Talkmobile last year but their roaming limits are very limited so I intend to buy a French SIM on a 30 day contract.  My question is can I divert my UK Talkmobile number to the French SIM once over in France for the duration?  The talkmobile chat agent just now is telling me you cant. It can only be transferred to another UK number but I suspect he doesn't know.  Does anyone know if this is possible?

It's only possible to divert to a UK number @barryd999 , if it was possible it would include charges for calling an overseas number for the diverted part of the call.  see here : Call diverts

Thanks.  I just wondered as in the instructions you have to put the +44 for the UK in front of the number you are diverting to  Not sure why you would need that if its UK only.  What would happen if I put in +33 for France?

Its not a big issue really if it doesn't work. I have a duel sim phone anyway so will just receive calls on my normal sim and use the French sim for mobile data.

You did not specify which call divert you are after .....

ALL CALLS
**21*Phone Number*TS# All calls

UNANSWERED
**67*Phone Number*TS# When Busy
**61*Phone Number*TS# Not Answered, No Reply
**61*Phone Nunber*TS*time 5-30# Not Answered, No Reply
**62*Phone Number*TS# Not Rechable, No Contact

TS - Service code
10 - All types of phone services
11 - Speech service
16 - SMS (not all MNO/MVNOs support it)

When you divert your calls,

every time the call gets diverted (someone calls your number)
YOU pay for that call being diverted ....so that would mean you pay

for calls to +33.... you answer it (call gets connected

or ends up in the French SIM Voice Mail)

Better solution would be to get a dual SIM phone and have both your UK (with some free roaming minutes... sea moneysavingexpert for deals) and French SIM card in one phone :Smiling:

You can also buy UK landline number over SIP (Internet) divert your mobile number to that number

and set up the SIP account on your mobile/PC/SIP phone that is connected to Internet ...

(The Internet Landline number offed by the likes of VF,BT,EE) are not SIP and you need specific device to operate ...
but of course you only find it in the small print ....
