Credit Check declined

I was looking to upgrade my phone to the new iPhone 16 pro. With deal given I was offered less per month than what I’m paying now. I have 999 credit score on experian with a perfect history.

the initial credit check was declined so I filled out the appeal form and just received an email stating that the appeal had been declined also.

there are no reasons for it to be declined in the slightest and I’m wondering if there is any way of resolving this. Otherwise I’ll be switching to another company.

like I say I have a perfect credit score and history, take home a decent wage with little to no outgoings. I’ve financed cars and paid them off as well as paying my phone off on time. Yet my credit check was declined?

is the system completely broken or am I just missing something?

Hi @Reeceyull. It's disappointing to see your Community thread entry. We understand how both concerning and troublesome this must have been, especially after receiving the appeal response. When we’re considering your application, we’ll use both credit scoring and/or automated decision making systems based on the personal information we have and are allowed to collect from others. We do this to assess creditworthiness and product suitability, check your identity, manage your account, trace and recover debts and prevent criminal activity.

If you get in touch with our Social Media team, they may be able to check your account for notes from the Credit Assessment team, regarding your decline.

Hi Jason,

Ive just been in contact with the media team and yet again they were of no help. I am now creating a formal complaint regarding the situation.
