I have been a customer on Vodafone for nearly 20 years. Had lot's of phones and deals. I have had my Iphone 11 Pro Max for a good 4 years and have been on sim-only the past year. I recently failed a credit check whilst upgrading. Even my appeal failed. I just don't understand it. I am currently paying £35 a month on my sim-only deal. I want to upgrade my phone because the charging port isn't working correctly. I tried to get a £60 a month deal for an Iphone 16 Pro Max and failed the credit check. I have never missed any payments in the 16 years i have been with Vodafone. I've never been in debt. Not got any outstanding loans. Vodafone can clearly see i have never missed a payment. I work full time and have plenty of spare money a month for things. I find it ridiculous. I am literally forced to go elsewhere. The only option is to buy a new phone. But i sure as well won't be doing that at Vodafone. Rant over! lol

Hi,
It must be incredibly frustrating, especially after such a long and positive history with Vodafone. It's hard to understand how a credit check could fail given your solid track record—never missed payments, no debts, and a steady income. It sounds like you've been a loyal customer for almost two decades, which makes this situation feel all the more unfair.
Hope! it would be helpful,

Hi @RADFORD9992
You could have a word with the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook or X however if your appeal has also not resolved this then something in the application must have highlighted something.
Vodafone can only advise it's a no and not the reason why.
I'd also suggest to check your Credit File with one of the Credit File references agencies just incase an issue has shown up.
Having a spotless Credit file does nkt always guarantee acceptance however it should be a positive part to the application along with how your current Vodafone account history.
Yes one of the alternative options is to buy the iPhone and pop your current sim card inside.

Ok i may buy a new phone. I’m not very good with technology tbh. Is it literally just a case of buying a brand new phone and inserting the sim in from my other phone and it will work? Aren’t there different sized sims? Also will all brand new phones work with a Vodafone sim? Thanks.
