Free minutes to the EU while on roaming

Hello,

As Vodafone has changed its mobile offers, when I check roaming costs for a specific destination, the system doesn't mention international minutes anymore but only the international saver.

So I am wondering about the following:

- I have a Red Entertainment contract with 81 countries in (Roaming free plus) plus 500 minutes of calls from the UK to the EU. Is it still possible to use the international allowance from a Roaming further country? For instance, if I am in Georgia and I want to call France, I would pay £ 6 daily charge and then would I be able to use my international minutes to call France?

- Is the same applicable if I have Vodafone International Saver? Vodafone International Saver 500 allows to call 100 countries from the UK for 500 minutes. If I am in a Roaming further destination, can I use such minutes after paying £ 6 as a daily charge.

It used to be like this some months ago but I want to be sure it's the same now.

It would be great if someone could confirm this.

Thank you,

Stefano

Hey there,

I had the same contract as you (lost my 500 EU mins, they became 100 on my last regrade) and have used my minutes to call from the USA (which was a roam free destination) as well as from Malaysia (which was a 6 GBP per day destination) to call Greece.

They came out of my minutes.

But to your point, this was last year but I haven't heard of things changing.

In fact the website seems to promote the standard price but then links to international saver so it seems bolt ons still work

Thank you very much for your reply.

I guess you meant you had lost the 500 minutes with your last upgrade?

I kept my old contract so I still have 500 minutes.

Yes - wasn't impressed! 🙂

Look at how terrible is the customer support:

Thank you for passing security with me 👍 Your Tariff includes 500 minutes to countries in the EU. As such if you were to use these services in Georgia it would, simply cost £6 a day, and you can use your allowances like you would do in the UK. I hope this helps!

Hey there Stefano 👋 Thanks for your patience with us! I've done some digging because I want to be sure you have the correct information and not get charged incorrectly - I am very sorry but we misadvised you above regarding the International Minutes.

An international call or text is one made from within the UK on our UK network to a mobile network or landline outside of the UK. So this extra 500 minutes to the EU would not work when you are not connected to the UK network and therefore if you were to call an EU country from anywhere other than the UK you would be charged separately for that.

I'm sorry for any confusion surrounding this and I'll be sure to feed it back!
