Roaming Data Charges

I have been charged for 9 events relating to data charges (£6 each time) for Data Failed To Load events…… these services will have not received / been able to use? Is this a common mischarging issue by VF?

@brains-snowy - thanks for sharing the image. The £6 charge should only be triggered, when a call's been made, text sent or your phone's made a mobile data connection (this incudes if your 'mobile data roaming' is turned on and connects to an internet application in the background.

 why do I get these charges for nothing

Hi @wmcdrum. We completely understand how concerning this must be. As we don't have access to your Vodafone account via the Community, I would recommend reaching out to our Social Media team so that we can take a closer look.  

Alternatively, we do have a Customer Care team over the phone on 191 free from a Vodafone mobile (03333 040191 from any other UK phone - standard charges apply), or via Live Chat online.

Install the voda app and check status/validity over wifi regularly. You can do your normal recharge over wifi to keep it active.

Make sure your "Main Balance" has some cash in it cause sms will get charged from the Main Balance depending on where you are and what International Telco your phone connects too. Voda has different agreements with different telcos so rates my vary. But as long as your Main Balance has some cash sms will come thro.

The international roaming packs are not really required if you have access to wifi everywhere. But if you do turn 'mobile broadband' on where wifi is not available, you will get charged insane rates if you dont have a roaming pack. It will drain main balance quite fast. So buy + activate the Intl Roaming pack in areas where you expect not to have wifi.

I am also getting the Data Failed to Load on my account after a recent holiday....am I getting charged for this daily charge and did actually not get it nor use it ?

Live chat is too busy when I've tried.

Wouldn't you know yourself if you used your phone when on holiday and therefore would need to pay?
