Hi

I reported my phone as lost to Vodafone on a couple of weeks ago who blacklisted device, luckily the phone was found and returned to me a few days later. So I contacted Vodafone requesting device be unblacklisted and bar removed from Sim. 2 weeks on and over 5 live chats online with agents,  3 telephone calls, numerous call back appointments that never happened, my device is still blacklisted. My patience is now non-existent as no one at vodafone appear to be able to help. They put blacklist on phone very easily why cant they remove it.  Just to add the phone was lost whilst I was in Germany once  the stolen bar was removed from the sim the phone worked fine until I came off the channel tunnel Which indicated still blacklisted. I’ve checked online with an IMEI check service and it’s still registered as blacklisted. Im at my wits end. Anyone help? I’m currently in isolation at the moment but I really my phone for work when I’m out.  Thanks Paul

As you say Vodafone acted quickly to stop unauthorised usage both on your sim card and with your phone to protect both when you reported them as lost.

Customer services should be able to lift the imei bar on the phone and the account block on the sim or they may send a new sim with your tariff and number on if needed. Obviously I appreciate this isn't happening as fast as you need at this time.

You could ask the Vodafone Social Media Team's via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries as they have account access for help.

There isn't account access via this forum.

If needed you could also raise a Complaint

In the interim is there perhaps a friend , family member or neighbour your friends with that can lend you a phone that'll accept your sim card.

Thanks for the reply,

vodafone have tried to remove the imei block  several times but as soon as they submit a request to remove it I receive an email saying we are sorry you lost your device, we have black listed it for you. It seems every time they remove it, the system automatically reapplies it and sends me an automated email. The sim works fine in another phone but I really need my phone ideally for work as I require a large amount of storage and certain encrypted apps that are assigned to that phone. I have contacted the social media team as suggested, fingers crossed they can help.

thanks again for the reply.

Quick update, the blacklist was finally removed thankfully. Not sure why it was such an issue sounded like a tech glitch that auto reapplied the blacklist from previous conversations with customer support. Just as a point to note the blacklisting was removed a good few hours before I realised but the phone needed to be restarted to take effect which I wasn’t told so if the you have found this thread via a web search try that first.
