Hi all,
I need some help understanding my options for upgrading.
I am eligible for an upgrade now and my preferred handset is an iPhone 12.
The best deal that has been offered to me by Vodafone is 100GB data with £19 upfront for £53.55pm.
However, on the following page, Carphone Warehouse have a deal on the iPhone 12 on the Vodafone network. It charges just £43 a month and £29 upfront while supplying 100GB of data.

In fact, most of the deals on this page are better than what Vodafone are offering.
I cannot understand why Vodafone cannot at least match one of these deals. They have told me that these deals are on new numbers and I won't get the same warranty on your device, and in some cases once stores are open I will not have local support.
Is this correct? Could anybody please help explain to me a bit further?
Many thanks,
Peter

Carphone Warehouse have their own tariffs which can be better than Vodafone's as they don't have a network to upkeep and they get a kickback from Vodafone for opening up a new contract which they can pass onto the customer.
Vodafone offer 24 months manufacturer warranty on iPhone's and Apple provide 12 months
You would need to check CPW Site on their own T&C's.
edit … Carphone Warehouse Mobile phone warranty periods. shows as 12 months.
A person near the end of their current contract and not at an early upgrade stage is at a better position to negotiate an upgrade. Call 191 and Choose the Thinking of Leaving option to get through to the Retentions Department.
A person can open up a new contract with Carphone Warehouse which gives a new number and then can transfer their original Vodafone number to it via a couple of ways.

There are two ways this can be done.
1. Cancel the old contract and ask for the number to be moved to PAYG. The number will be scheduled to move to PAYG after 30 days. You will then receive a new PAYG SIM card to activate and top up a small amount to get it active on the network. You will then be able to transfer the number to the new contract.
2. Ask Vodafone for a PAC code, move the old number to an alternative network, use the SIM as PAYG on the other network and ask for a PAC code to move the number onto the new contract. If your original contract near it’s end date ? If not then actioning the above would end it and invoke any relavent early termination fee.
Opening up a contract with Carphone Warehouse means your becoming their customer with Vodafone providing the connection and collecting payments but that does not mean they won't provide support where they can. Not sure why the agent is saying that to be honest.
Certain Vodafone discounts such as employers VEA is only for contracts opened up directly with Vodafone.
