Vodafone says I've paid my phone bill, when I haven't.

Hey all! Title says it all really. I'm on a 4gb data with unlimited calls and texts SIM, which I pay £6.68. I went to pay it today, but it's says I paid it in the 11th of may, which I know I didn't because I didn't have any money till today. Can anyone help me out?

It’s to do with the DD system. It takes a few working days (exc weekends) for a DD request from a company to hit a customers bank account. So if, for example your bill is due on the 20th, the company concerned will request the DD amount a few days before that - maybe as early as 15th or 16th if it’s a weekend.. the account will be marked as “paid” at that point as they company has requested the funds. It’s only if the payment fails a few days after the main DD due date will the company reverse the payment on the account and advise. So don’t be alarmed if your DD shows as paid a few days before it’s due - it’s perfectly normal.
