What is Vodafone’s definition of a discount?

It’s time for me to upgrade and I’m entitled to a voucher through my employer that gives me a discount but the T&C says I can’t use it on a plan that is already discounted.

Vodafone are being unclear as to what a “discount” is defined as. Is it when the shopping basket shows a discount - so there’s a clear reduction in the monthly price, or does it include plans where the data has been “boosted” for a limited time but the price hasn’t changed?

I’m comparing the current 24 month Red 60GB Entertainment and Red 160GB entertainment plans. The 60GB specifically says the word discount in the shopping basket so I assume my voucher wouldn’t be valid, but the 160GB seems to be a data boost and doesn’t say the word discount when added to the basket.

Its frustrating that I have to buy the plan before they will sort out the discount so don’t want to find myself in the situation where they reject the discount and I have to pay full price.

Can anyone help clarify this for me please?

Thanks

Yes @phil76 Vodafone won't give two discounts or add the Advantage discount to any plan already discounted or on promotion.  This is explained here: Advantage Terms and Conditions

When you look at the plans, the discounted or plan on promotion will probably give the same discount as you would receive from your employer or even better the Advantage discount.  I always think it best to go through tele sales, that puts you in a good bargaining position especially when out of contract and without the extra Advantage £10.00 membership charge.

Thanks for the advice.

Am I more likely to get a better offer if I wait until after the current contract ends?

A person very near to the contract end date is definitely in a better place to negotiate with the Retentions Team via 191 and choosing the Thinking of Leaving option @phil76

Although it also depends on what a person is after in the way of deals / phone's etc.
