Unlocking not working

Hello,

I'm trying to unlock my dad's phone for him, his contract is finished and he's got a new phone, so we applied and got a NUC code for the old one,

The IMEI number is correct and when we inserted a non Vodafone SIM into the old phone the prompt appeared to enter the NUC we tried to enter it, but the field to enter the code was greyed out and we were unable to enter it or proceed to the next step so the phone wouldn't work.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi @Aibak 

 

Is the alternative network sim card your using to invoke the pop up box fully activated  ?

i.e connects to mobile data etc  ?

Has anyone tried to unlock the phone previously  ?

I ask because if too many wrong attempts are made then the phone can Hardlock which means then it'll need sending away by Vodafone to have it's counter reset.

May I ask which phone model your trying to unlock ?

Hey,

Yeah, we used the sim from a friends phone and everything works fine in his.

That was the first time we've tried unlocking it.

It's a Samsung Galaxy A8

With Samsung phones a MCK Mastercode also known as an unfreeze code is also needed as well as the Nuc.

The Vodafone Social Media Teams via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries can get you this.
