Five days ago I made the mistake of asking Vodafone to convert my physical SIM to an eSIM, after I bought a new iPhone 16. All I can say is that I really wish I’d read the feedback on this forum. I now have no mobile service, and the best I can get from Vodafone customer service is to try contacting them again after 24 hours if it’s still not working. I’ve been with Vodafone for 20 years but if/when I get my number working I’ll be moving to a different provider. As others have pointed out, being without access to your mobile creates problems with services that rely on two factor authentication, like banking. it’s worrying that Vodafone don't seem to be able to manage eSIM use in the way other companies do.
