Been on the phone for hours to Vodafone to the point where I had to completely erase my device and install from iCloud backup still the problem is not fixed. It says in my iCloud that this number is not associated with an Apple device. I have rang Apple and they have said it’s nothing the end.
Rang Vodafone again and they have Run me through the same troubleshooting as before and still nothing. I wish I had never moved if I cannot get this problem fixed within the next few days then I will be cancelling my contract. I was with EE for years. This has just been more hassle than it’s worth. Can anybody help me? I have tried all the normal activating deactivating phone on off taking out Sim card et

Hi @Wilxxxx! Usually if iMessage isn't working, it's because the number isn't saved in the device correctly. Please go to Settings > Phone > My Number > Delete the number and re-type correct number > Restart your phone. Also please click here for our device guides troubleshooting for when iMessage isn't working. Please let us know how you get on 🙂

I have done this. The correct number is in the phone app setting as soon as I go and click on phone. The number is already there. The number is also in iMessage. All I see is when I try and turn it on a little thing spinning and it’s saying verifying but nothing happens in my iCloud in settings and security. I put my number in there and it says this number is not associated with an Apple device.

I have also been on the phone to Apple this morning who have remotely looked at my phone and said there is no issues and it should be working, So it can only be something to do with Vodafone and the number changing over, but everything is where it should be they checked, Which cost me a fortune because ringing Apple off a landline is expensive

In this case, please reach out to the Social Media team here, with a link to this thread so you won't need to repeat yourself, and with screenshots of any errors you're seeing, so we're able to assist you as quickly as possible. Whilst Apple may have advised that this isn't a device issue, if your SIM card is working with us in general then there will be no issue with your account with us. The problem it sounds like you're having is ensuring that the device recognises the number so this would be within the settings of the phone itself or your iCloud account, but we can look into this in greater detail once you've reached out to the team 🙂

That just takes me to a robot and when I say iMessage are not working it won’t even pick up what I’ve said and gives me different options

If you type the phrase "Speak to an agent", this should route you through if you're struggling with the options displayed

Sorry, but surely this will be the same people that I have spoken to the last three times over the phone when I have rang and they’ve gone through the troubleshooting all the numbers restarting the phone restarting the phone taking the Sim card out erasing the phone completely everything like that I don’t think there’s anything near I can try

The team will be able to review your account in full and assess if it's indeed an issue with the device, (as I believe it is), or with your SIM card
