iPhone 12 3G only mobile data

Hello, I need to use 3G data on the iPhone 12.  4G is too slow at this location but 3G is fine.  The Mobile Data Options in Settings only allows 5G or 4G - no 3G only.

Any ideas please?

Will this be updated in the next vodafone carrier settings?

Latest is 43.0 in IOS 14.1.  Surely this removes the manual control over 3G/4G/5G which does vary with usage and causes congestion and unusable speeds.

3G is faster than 4G in some areas.

No, there tends to be only one fallback option - and that is usually the technology behind the current one. (For example, a 5G iPhone can be switched to 4G, a 4G iPhone can be switched to 3G etc) - I know some iOS version on Vodafone for previous iPhones allowed 2G/3G/4G switching but most other networks didn’t have this.

I’m on 14.2 and the options are still the same.
