Hello
I have a new ZTE phone and while trying to set up a contact list, I seem to have disabled a 'required permission' which means I cannot set up a contact list. I don't seem able to correct that error. When I press on the Contacts icon on the main screen and get that error message, and press on the error message, it doesn't do anything. If I press on the Settings icon and select 'Apps and notifications' (Permissions and default apps) and then select Contacts and then Permissions (Contacts and telephone) and then Contacts, I get a message that says 'If you deny this permission, basic features of your device may no longer function as intended. I have the option to Cancel or Deny Anyway, so I press Cancel.
How do I get out of this maze, plse?
Thanks.

Hi @Steve_1959_
If you can't find anything further in the phones settings or in the device guide found here 》https://deviceguides.vodafone.co.uk/zte/
Then if this was my phone I would consider backing up and factory resetting. This will take the phone back to the last successful firmware update.
However that's a last resort but may work.
Perhaps try a Google Search too.
I wish you all the best with this situation.

Hi @Steve_1959_
Try this fingers crossed it will sort it out for you.
Go into your settings, scroll down to apps, tap apps, tap on the three icons at the top of the screen, select applications manager, scroll down to contacts, select contacts and make sure this is on allow and not deny. You will also see a list of all your allowed applications from your contacts as well as the denied.
Other than that it will mean a factory reset and setting up the phone again from scratch.
Also make sure your contacts are synchronised to your gmail account, when you sign in from your gmail account from the account set up on your phone your contacts will transfer to your phone.
