Fairphone 4

Hi there,

Now that the next iteration of Fairphone is available, is there anything on the roadmap to work with the 5G modem on the Fairphone 4 (if applicable)?

I have purchased the device and my plan does come with 5G but I haven't seen the 5G symbol popup. The 4G symbol is there.

In fact, I'm not even sure what 5G band Vodafone uses. According to GMSArena the device supports the following bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 41, 71, 77, 78 SA/NSA/Sub6

Hi @shahedshah - it's great to see you've gone for the Fairphone, have you bought this outright? Is your plan with us a SIM only? We don't currently have any information on the Fairphone 4 on our website, but keep your eyes peeled.

It could also depend on the area that you're in, are you in one of our 5G zones? You can find lots more information about or 5G here.

Hi TJ. Thanks for the reply. I went for the Fairphone 4 outright, moving on from my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. A downgrade but all in the name of sustainability.

I have recently travelled to the North East for work and noticed the 5G symbol on the phone. Which is interesting, as I live in a 5G area in South East London and have yet to see the symbol. It's supposedly an area with good 5G signal per the Network Status Checker.

Anyhow, 5G works with Vodafone on the device.
