Mi 9 Miui 11 upgrade Sim problem

Hi. After waiting for a Miui upgrade for over a year Vodafone has rolled one out today. I've done the upgrade and I am unable to enable my SIM card and hence unable to make calls. Any ideas? TIA

Hi everyone, thanks so much for flagging and rest assured this is something we've been working on with the manufacturer to get you all connected to what you love again.

To keep you all updated, Xiaomi have advised that a patch is going through final testing through their side and we're looking to verify this from our side today.

All going well, this patch should be with you over the next few days, by next week at the very latest.

Please don't try any troubleshooting steps such as a factory reset or arranging a repair of the phone as once the software is out, this will resolve things for you.

Once we have confirmation that the fix is working and when it can be released, we'll let you know ASAP here.

Xiaomi are quoting 3 weeks for repair if you send your phone away. If it's not sorted by Wednesday I will be cancelling my Vodafone direct debit....purchasing another phone through another provider

 Vodafone can whistle for it

Has this been resolved for anyone yet ?

Still waiting for an update in the situation l. Not sure if they are going to release a patch or if Vodafone us gunna recall/swap handsets with customers. I've had no phone since Saturday night. Have factory reset and done everything possible. I am an ex Vodafone employee so I know how frustrating this can be.

Nothing yet! I called Vodafone to check what they had to say to me. After being on hold for close to half an hour I was able to get through to a guy from technical support. I could barely hear him as he was working from home and the connection was very poor from his end. Anyways, long story short, he asked me to go for a factory reset which I flatly refused given, this hasn't worked for so many people! The other option remains sending my phone away for don't know how long...besides you don't even get a replacement phone! How do they expect me to send away my phone and be without any connection for weeks!? So I have decided to stay put for now and here's hoping that the manufacturer will roll out an update to fix this issue. God only knows how long is this going to take to get resolved. I really wish I hadn't gone for the software update 😒😔

I had seen on some posts about downloading a rom from the mi website but I wouldn't advise doing anything like that until they can sort a patch as it may damage or corrupt the phone. Just have to sit tight I guess!

Any idea on any sort of time frame that this issue will be fixed?

Do I need to send my phone off for repair?

Hi @Karlo99

No please don't send your phone for repair.

A number of people who have updated to the most recent version of software are experiencing various bugs.

Vodafone are a aware and working with the manufacturer to get this sorted which I think will be via a patch update.

Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512gb Phantom Black.

Vodafone told me to factory reset last night and I've lost everything even tho I backed up

I'm not that tech savvy what do you mean by patch update? - will this happen automatically?

Thanks

I factory reset too (on saturday night) and am unable to verify whatsapp, online banking, Duo and a couple other apps without a working SIM.

Patch update means it will come through the same way as the update did. I manually check a few times a day for an update by going Settings>About Phone>System Update>Check for updates

Just came off live chat with the manufacturer they've reiterated what you guys have said,

I also have lost bank login what's app password and photos

An absolute nightmare last couple of days
