Mi 9 Miui 11 upgrade Sim problem

Hi. After waiting for a Miui upgrade for over a year Vodafone has rolled one out today. I've done the upgrade and I am unable to enable my SIM card and hence unable to make calls. Any ideas? TIA

Hi everyone, thanks so much for flagging and rest assured this is something we've been working on with the manufacturer to get you all connected to what you love again.

To keep you all updated, Xiaomi have advised that a patch is going through final testing through their side and we're looking to verify this from our side today.

All going well, this patch should be with you over the next few days, by next week at the very latest.

Please don't try any troubleshooting steps such as a factory reset or arranging a repair of the phone as once the software is out, this will resolve things for you.

Once we have confirmation that the fix is working and when it can be released, we'll let you know ASAP here.

Thanks. Couple of things:

1: That's not where the network settings are. try Settings > Connection & Sharing > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.

2: The patch has worked for one person. That's less than some by a long way!

So, the fix didn't work for me, the reset didn't work either and has also wiped out all my blutooth device connections and Wi-Fi networks (as a geek had lots) so be warned people.

Any other advice Natasha? Surely we shouldn't have to tell you this fix is patchy? Surely your tech teams have tested what Xiaomi have given us and have told you it's patchy?

Natasha, I truly appreciate the help and the updates, but when the help does more damage than good, it does test the patience, so sorry if I'm sounding a but frustrated and snarky!

Yep it's a NO from me. Applied the update, rebooted and no signal. No mobile networks detected. So in short patch no workey.

Hi All and Natasha,

Still no connection, the additional instructions had no relevance to the phone menu and still did not work. I haven't had such a problem since owning a windows Omni phone!!!!

Yep! Just did the update, no joy! Have the network sign with a cross sign and greyed out. Also tried resetting connections which did not work 😒 Was genuinely hoping this to work.

Hi Natasha

I think only one person said the fix work - at least a dozen said it didn't, me included.   Why do we need to pop you a message?  I am not happy sharing the information you request on a public forum?

And please mark this thread as not fixed as ITS NOT FIXED!!!

The problem is that Vodafone sends a set up script for the SIM but Xaiomi's own application also tried to set up the SIM.

Why can't they sort this out.

Unbelievable. Also ainnoticed in the flashing messages something about 5g my Vodafone SIM is only 4G. 😲

Done all the above still getting the same result as everyone else absolutely fed up to the back teeth with it now don't know what to do or who to contact as neither Vodafone or Xiaomi seem to be bothered just rushing out a patch that's no different from the last

Actually, looking again at the reset item we were advised to use, it does exactly what it says it does. It resets your WiFi, Bluetooth and mobile data! 😂😂😂😂

Nothing has worked for me here. I mentioned previously that I emailed the CEO. Coincidentally I received a call not long ago from the directors office advising a replacement device was on its way to me arriving tomorrow. Definitely got a much better response from that than anything else! Fed up trying things that don't work so I'm away to factory reset my phone and will let everyone know how the new device works out. Good luck.

I have just done a full factory reset after todays update not improving the situation and I am happy to say my phone appears to be working fine now
