S22 Ultra No WiFi Calling

So unbelievably I had this problem last year and since I had to replace a handset, it's happened again.

There is no option to enable Wi-Fi Calling in the settings, it just does not appear. Vodafone support are absolutely useless, have tried both web chat and phone, and have been hung up on/disconnected when they couldn't find a solution. Every time t hey take ten minutes to research and then just come back with the how to on the website.

I installed the app to try and toggle it on my account, but that's no longer possible.

Absolutely at my wit's end here, has anyone had any recent success in getting Vodafone to fix their faulty product?

Hey @S_Gi

Sorry you're facing this issue again, thank you for raising it. There should be an option for WiFi Calling capability within your My Vodafone App. Found under Controls + Extras > Manage Controls and Extras > Calling options > WiFi Calling. This should show if your WiFi Calling is activated or not. If not, the option to switch this on. If you're continually facing trouble, please pop us over a message via our Social Media Team here and we can take a closer look into your account.

It just has some information about what WiFi calling is, no ability to toggle on/off

Thanks for checking @S_Gi . Please pop us over a message via our Social Media Team here so we can access your account and take a closer look into this with you.

OK the Soxial Media team have now stopped responding as well, what's the next step for escalation?

Hi @S_Gi 👋 The team will always respond back as quickly possible. If you haven't received a response yet, could you please add your social name to your private profile here, and we will try to locate your conversation and follow this up with you. We can escalate your issue over social media and help raise a complaint if this is needed.

So they have now got back to me, unfortunately they've just run through the exact same process as has been happening for the last 3 days.

-First they say to follow the Vodafone instructions. I point out that this is the actual fault, the WiFi calling option described in the instructions does not appear on my phone. Twice now over social media they've asked for a screenshot to prove this

-second they ask me to text CALLING to 9788. I've done this several times now, all it does it turn on WiFi calling on the account, it does nothing for the handset. It does nothing

-If I'm contacted by phone, there call can last up yo an hour, with them going on hold for most of it

-Finally on the last call the operator was trying to tell me to replace the handset under warranty, though she didn't understand anything about how I'd bought the handset. In any case, this is a known Vosafone issue, the next handset will just have the same problem

Please can you get this escalated past first line helpdesk. I have raised an official complaint but I fear that by spamming me with heldesk responses from operators who don't understand the issue and are unable to help, Vodafone are trying to prevent a "final word" message to stall me going to the Ombudsman. I'm sure I can find a way around this, but hopefully I won't have to if it gets resolved.

Please do what you can to get this escalated to an actual engineer who has the tools/training to fix the issue

@S_Gi - thanks for updating the thread. I'm sorry it's got to the stage of you making a complaint. I can see we've got your last reply on Social Media and one of the team will be in touch shortly.

I'm on my second fix of the same problem, too, but with the same handset. No idea why it turned itself off. Solution for me (after wasting an hour with useless text chat) was to IGNORE the information on the Voda website, where it directs you to go into the android settings.

Instead, open the Phone app (i.e. the green one with the white receiver icon), then click the three dots, then settings. The wifi calling toggle was about halfway down.

Thanks for this. I was struggling to find it.

Had also forgotten that there's also a WiFi calling option on the quick settings pull down

I suspect this isn't a Vodafone issue but rather Samsung updates turning off the setting for some reason
