Force connection via WiFi calling when on home network - iPhone 11

I live in a rural area with, until recently, a non-existent Vodafone signal inside my house. I have a solid fibre broadband connection of 100MB+. Until fairly recently I had a 'Sure Signal' but Vodafone have now stopped this service. Since then, I had always been able to use WiFi calling to make and receive calls & I recently renewed my Vodafone contract.

Unfortunately, I think Vodafone might have slightly 'improved' their service locally in the last few weeks and I now get a fleeting one bar Vodafone 4G signal.

Having a fleeting signal is a complete disaster!! If I start a call, it favours the flaky 4G connection and frequently drops the connection after  a few seconds when the 4G fades. I may get one way conversations which are even more frustrating Essentially, the service is now useless to me for phone calls. I can sit next to my router and still the darn thing resorts to the faint whiff of 4G.

I need the phone to completely ignore the 4G signal when I have a solid home network. If Vodafone 'improve' a signal, they either need to improve it sufficiently to guarantee a solid connection or allow users to switch it off.

I have three iPhones (11 &12) - none of which now work reliably.

What can I do to improve this hopeless situation?

This behaviour will always be a problem (to some degree) in cell-edge scenarios, the handover parameters should be set to allow for it.

Try enabling flight mode to disable the mobile radios, and then enable WiFi manually.
