Samsung S23 Ultra Wifi Calling

S23 Ultra purchased direct from Samsung, VoWifi and VoLTE worked straight away! Usually it takes two hours of calls to persuade Vodafone that even though it's not listed as supported, it should work and to send the settings!

Yup the WiFi calling isn't in the dialler app, it used to be in the settings which last year set me off down the wrong path, but it's no where to be found.

It was useful that option in my Vodafone, I did send a text that supposedly should configure it, but that didn't work either.

Like I said I'm not all that bothered about it, it's implementation is poor anyway and not enough that I sit in a queue for 40 minutes! 🤣🤣🤣

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty setting your WiFi Calling up @shuntfield. Let's see if we can make sure it's available if your change your mind. As we'll need access to your account to do this, pop us a message via one of our social channels. I'm sure we'll be able to get this sorted for you and as our team are available 24/7 you can reach out to us and reply to our messages when it's most convenient to yourself.

I to had no WiFi calling option on my Samsung S22 Ultra, may be its the same for you?

Well after over a month of making numerous phone calls and receiving calls from Vodafone going over the same thing everytime, Vodafone telling me my phone is faulty and me telling them it isn't, finally I have the WiFi calling option on my phone and it works!! What they did was disconnect me from their network and then reconnected me. After about an hour the advisor called me and asked if WiFi calling had appeared, I said no, so he ordered me a new sim card, 15mins later the option appeared! If only they did what they did earlier (they said they would disconnect me earlier, but never did), maybe all this wouldn't have happened.

Also for those that say the VolTE and 4G calling options are no longer available this option was removed by Samsung in their last update.

Although my phone is different hopefully it will help you.

What bums me is that this should be something so simple for Vodafone but WiFi calling has been around for years now and it's still as much a ballache now for them as it was then.

My missus is on O2 and on her WiFi calling settings you can literally choose it to prefer to do WiFi calls/volte calls/O2 calls.

Thankfully my WiFi calling does work after asking someone in tech to use VDC for the s23 ultra but admittedly I feel the pain of those having these issues as I've been on both sides so to speak thankfully when I used to work retail knowing when chatting and using the word use VDC, it did typically resolve things quite quickly.

From experience another thing that sometimes worked is to whack the SIM in your old phone and then back in the new phone and WiFi calling would appear too

Thats absolutely correct.

I don't see how it's so difficult. It worked fine on my S22 ultra, put the SIM in the S23 👋➡️ WiFi Calling.

@chistery Hi, hope you are well.  You helped me previously on my OnePlus 6 back in the day!!!

I also have a new S23 Ultra purchased directly recently (SM-S918BZEHEUB).

Wi-Fi calling automatically showed up under the stock dialers setting, once turned on this is working fine.

Is there supposed to be a toggle for Volte in the settings as well?  Or has this option changed?

Hi @ABDULHAMID1978

Vodafone have removed the option to allow you to turn on or off VoLTE. It's hopefully enabled though. Have you made a call and does your phone stay on 4G?

Made a couple of calls, each time 4G was showing.  Seems like it's working?

Yes, as you're staying on 4G during  a call, VoLTE is working. 😀

Apparently this was removed in a recent Samsung firmware update... Although my brother's on EE shows it.

Also gives the ability to prioritise WiFi calling
