Text messages aren't coming through to me but my messages are being received by other people. Have reset my phone and no change. Never got the automated it looks like you have changed SIM card message update your settings after the software update as normal. Not sure what to do

A software update shouldn't have affected your messages 😕
Can you begin troubleshooting by a soft reboot i.e turning your phone off and On.
As a process of elimination to rule out the update can you try your sim card in another phone @Lime0492
If it still does work then you may need to speak with customer services / Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook Messenger or Twitter DM to have your account looked over.

A software update would not have changed the APN settings, these would have remained the same. To check your APN and text message settings see device guides here: Device Guides
As far as your messages are concerned, make sure you have the correct message centre number on the message settings, this should keyed in as +447785016005. your messages should be set as text, go into your message settings and make sure chat features are off, otherwise your messages will be sent and received over data as chat, further information on this here: More from your messages with chat
