3g Card To Usb Dongle

dorrick
Not applicable
I currently have a Vodafone contract 3G card that connects into the slot on the side of my laptop.

I have however now purchased a netbook as I only really use the laptop for emails and a little surfing when on the move .

The Netbook doesn't have a slot to connect the card but does have USB ports .

So my question is if i was to buy a PAYG USB dongle could I just swap the Sim card over and be up and running with the netbook ?

Thanking you in advance

Hi dorrick

A very warm welcome to the eForum :D

Yes you can buy a PAYT dongle and place your SIM card from the connect card into it and you would be able to get the full internet experience on the netbook.

Most netbooks have a SIM card slot where this would work also, so I would check that out as an option.

Alternatively you might want to upgrade the package you have and get a free dongle and the advantage of the more recent offerings around the mobile broadband

Please let us know how you get on with this
