Hi @jimboy47
We don’t support that phone, but from what I can see, there are a few versions available.
Not all versions work on 800MHz which is what we use - it sounds like your phone uses 850MHz instead.
It’s possible the BT SIM worked, because their 4G works on the 850MHz frequency.
See our blog for more information on 4G frequencies.
Cheers,
Laura

Hi @jimboy47
Welcome to the eForum.
As this isn’t a phone we supply, we’re unable to provide any support.
Please contact the manufacturer for further advice.
Thanks,
Sarah

Hi @jimboy47
While we don't block handset models, there will be certain requirements to use our 4G network.
You'll need to check you're in a 4G area.
You'll also need to be on a 4G plan.
Our 4G service runs on the 800MHz frequency, so your handset needs to be compatible.
Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben thanks for the reply, I have checked my 4g coverage, I have also been sent a new sim, and had my new 4g package checked, and has been re applied, I have took my Vodafone sim from my sim slot 1 and put it into my samsung galaxy 5 phone and it works, but does not on mind, but if I move my BT SIM from sim slot to to 1, I get 4g straight away, so this would suggest that my phone is capable and the Vodafone sim is ok so looks like a network issue, see below for bands support on my phone its a ASUS MODEL IS ASUS_Z00AD, thanks James.

Laura's right. 850mhz is almost certainly your problem. I'm surprised ASUS didn't know that, tbh.

4G is slightly confusing as it refers to channels rather than frequency bands. Last time I looked, Wikipedia had an extensive list of the ones used.
Your phone does only appear to use 850mhz for 3G, though, so it'll always have trouble with that. I presume your account does include 4G? (just a thought).

I've got a Zenfone 2 and it works well with Vodafone 4G. But there are a few model varients and it can be confusing. Mine is ZE551ML.
Whar's yours?
