Hi everyone. I just got told by a store rep that the Smart 4 Turbo is being left high and dry on android 4.4.4 kitkat. Personally I find this unaccetable considering that the specs of the phone a perfectly capable of supporting newer versions of android. To top it all off, I bought it after being told it would be supported to have this backtracking business take place is insulting. I've been a customer for several years and often reccommend Vodafone to my friends.
I was told that the only way I could update the handset is if I do it myself, something which voids the warranty (have 8 months left or so). Also the device isn't really supported by the modding community either.
I even have a transcript from a chat rep, telling me android 5.1 would be release for the device back in July.
Any help would be appreciated I really want to continue to be a customer.

Hi
Im surprised the Rep would know this as Vodafone do not release this info or tell customers until they deem the time right.
The Callcentres are outsourced and I'm not confident they would know this info.
Firmware Statement is https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-monthly-products-services/Firmware/m-p/2421980#M4420
Current Phone >
Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512gb Phantom Black.

The problem with your "Firmware statement" is that it just says vodafone don't provide dates for firmware updates. So it's kind of pointless.
Why doesn't Vodafone value transparancy?

Release dates are never provided in advance as, if the testing takes longer than anticipated, or throws up issues, they may be delayed.
