To be able to use more apps I bought a 32Gb SD card and made it the "Default Write Disk". Even so some apps will only download to the phone storage and can't be moved to the SD drive afer install. I have uninstalled some apps and reinstalled just to double check. There are two problems as a consequence.
(1) The 2Gb phone storage is almost 99% full so I cannot get updates for the apps..
(2) When I attached the phone to my PC and opened with Explorer, I could only account for 600Mb worth of files and data on the phone. Nowhere near its 2Gb capacity. See analysis attached.
I frequently clear the cache from my apps, even so I have less than 100Mb on my phone but 31Gb on the SD card.
Are there unused files on the phone I can remove or can I manually safely move files to the SD card via Explorer on my PC.
Thanks.

Hi
From my memory I believe the option to download apps onto a Sd card was for higher end phones.
I would suggest moving all pictures , videos and music to the Sd Card. Delete old texts snd emails especially those with attachments. Delete old notes in your calendar app and notes app.
Unfortunately phones with smaller internal storage are going to run in to issues like this as some of the storage is also taken up by the Operating System. As the phone is used more and more then data is collated. Doesn't yours come with 4Gb of internal memory ?
Can you continue clear your app caches / accrued data and delete rarely used or no longer required apps.

I'm not familiar with this particular device, but 2gb of onboard storage is very little and a lot less than current operating systems and apps expect. Apps get bigger with practically every update and also spread their data more liberally. It could well be that it's not practical to use any more, especially if you want more than a small handful of apps. I'm having similar issues on a 3 year old Samsung tablet that has 8gb.
You can gain some space by uninstalling updates for system apps that can't be uninstalled but which you don't use.
The storage you can't account for via Windows is probably system space that may well not show up there - though it may if you enable "show hidden files". Does the device have its own storage analysis? That should show the space taken up by the system, apps and other items. And, yes, not all apps will move to an external sd card.
