After factory reset, battery drains quicker than before

Hello,

I have a Galaxy S4 and after doing a factory reset to solve a problem I had with no mobile data connecting after the latest update, my phone battery drains A LOT quicker than it used to.

Before it would last overnight at 15% charge, but now the phone runs out of charge overnight if it is left at 20%. The battery can no longer last a day and I am not using my phone as often at the moment due to the holidays, so when I start using it more, it porbably wont last very long.

Is there a way to fix this please? I read somehting about charging the phone while it is turned off - does that work and do I need to take the battery out beforehand or is it just as simple as charge while turned off?

Thanks for your help

There are many ways to make the battery last longer such as ensuring all apps are closed in the background when not in use, switching off location services and disabling 3G when in Wi-Fi covered locations.

Take a look at the battery itself and let us know if you notice if the shape has warped at all.

To find out what you need to do in order to get this sorted take a look at our Vodafone Repairs Thread. This can be found here.
