All appears to be ok, but is it working?

Hi everyone, my v2 was recently replaced with a v3 under warranty, I have registered it and all appears ok, all of the lights are lit but the phones that are linked to it don't have a full signal.  One is an iPhone 5 with 4/5 bars, and the other is a Nokia Lumia 1020 that is registering 4 bars with H.

My question is - if the SS is working properly, should the handsets that are linked with it show a full 5 bars?  Should that also show 3G or 4G?

Thanks for reading.

Hi dannyyoung,

If it is working properly you should see either 3G or H on your phone.

Did you used to get full 3G coverage on the iPhone with the older Sure Signal?

What’s the serial number so I can check your registration?

James

Hi James

The reception has been quite poor today.  Should it show all the bars in the reception indicator on my phone?

The serial number is 40133665956.

My old sure signal never worked properly so I am not sure what impact it had on my handsets - is the behaviour not the same for all?

Cheers

Dan

Hi dannyyoung,

It won't necessarily show all bars, this can depend on the handset.

Your registration is fine, are you experiencing any dropped or poor quality calls?

Thanks,

Kay

Hi Kay

I have had no signal at periods today, when I checked the sure signal it showed a flashing red light and an orange internet connection, I powered it off and on again and the signal is back.

I will keep an eye on it and post if there are any more problems.

Thanks

Dan

Hi James

i just noticed my mobile had no signal and checked the VSS, it showed a flashing red and solid amber internet light - as it did previously.

I've reset by powering off and on and all appears ok again, is there a fault with the VSS?

Cheers

Hi dannyyoung

It could be faulty, they only way to find out would be to test it with a different connection. Can you take it around to a friends house?

Thanks

Hi

I just checked the sure signal again and the same sequence of lights was flashing.  I reset it and a new sequence came up - red flashing, first light off, second on orange, third on orange.

It is difficult for me to find somewhere else to test it, do I just need somewhere that has broadband, does it matter who the broadband provider is, and how long do I need to test it for?

Should I be logging this under a separate thread, and should I post up any stats?

Sorry for all the questions but this is starting to frustrate me now, all is fine when the VSS is working but I am having constant issues.

Thanks

Dan

Hi dannyyoung,

To test it at a different location, it can be any internet provider.

You’ll need to register it up at that address and see if you get the same problem, which should take no longer than a couple of hours.

If you keep all the results in this thread it will make it easier to see what’s been done so far.
