Hi All,
I have an Amazon Fire TV stick in the HDMI port of my TV. It works fine mostly but with BBC iPlayer it continually buffers making it unwatchable. I noted on another forum something about changing the DNS server. Does anyone know anything about this problem as I understand that it is not uncommon.
Thank you,
Bill

Hi @clarkmed
Streaming uses lots of bandwidth.
Have you tried disconnecting any other devices while streaming to see if that helps.
Can you please run a speedtest to check what speeds you are getting.
My preference is the Ookla Speedtest software.
On conducting a Google Search there are quite a few help threads that may assist you.
There does seem to be some people who have had similar issues between the fire stick and BBC iPlayer.
Possibly some help in

Download speed is around 32Mps.
There are no other devices using the connection which would be using up bandwidth.
I read something elsewhere about changing the DNS server as this can make the way the device connects to iPlayer more efficient. Does this make sense?

Certainly a conundrum.
Did you come across the settings information from a dedicated forum ? It maybe worth seeking out such a place.
In regards to changing settings that's a personal choice. Doing so could affect other aspects of a device.

@clarkmed Is it just the Amazon Fire TV stick that you're having issues with? Have you tried connecting other device to see if the same thing happens?
