Android 6.0.1 firmware issues

This has probably been asked a few times, but when can Vodafone Customers expect a fixed firmware to replace Android 6.0.1? I use a Note 4 and ever since updating I get boot loops, lag, WiFi issues, phone boots in ODIN which makes it look like I have tried to modify the firmware and freezes when I unlock it.

One of the reasons I purchase direct in this case from Samsung is that I receive untouched firmware updates. Sometimes firmwares are faster via rollout to unbranded phones too.

I'm not saying yours is glitchy because it's been tested by Vodafone.

Sorry should have said I have cleared the cache partition 6 times in the past week and carried out factory reset from the recovery screen, but the issues still persist, removed my sd card and even the screen protector... just to make sure it was the firmware

Hi,

It seems you have actioned what you can ref a factory reset etc

I'm not sure if you can rewind to the previous firmware.

Unfortunately Vodafone do not comment.

With statements like "Before releasing any software updates, we test it thoroughly to make sure it provides the best experience on our network." I hate to think what the worst experience is.. well at least it didn't catch fire.

I don't believe I can revert to previous firmware without rooting to a custom firmware and voiding manufacturer warrenty.

It's a real shame as it feel's like your being given new software that isn't fit for purpose, told there is nothing Vodafone can do, but you can buy a new phone to ride out the last year of your contracy 😕

I'm using an unbranded Samsung Galaxy s7 edge on 6.0.1 and not experiencing the issues you are.

To be honest I'm not sure what Vodafone do with the update before releasing it for their branded handsets apart from what they state in their Firmware Statement.

That's probably the difference, I assume that you don't have a redacted version of the firmware?

I wouldn't really call it solved, but I think this is probably the best advice and deal with Samsung directly should you experience issues
