Hi,
I have a pay-monthly contract with Vodafone with a Google/LG Nexus 5X phone.
Will my phone work in the USA? i.e. As soon as I switch it on it will connect to whatever network Vodafone are linked to over there?
I have used the phone recently in mainland Europe with no problem at all.
I'm not likely to use it much, but it would be handy for emergencies in case I needed to phone the UK, or if someone from the UK needed to phone me.
Many Thanks

Hi there
It should work no problems in the USA - I am regularly out there and use roaming on my handset without problems. Now, depending on how much you are planning to use the phone, it may be worth opting into World Traveller. It allows you to use your UK minutes, texts and data for just £5 per day for each day you use it.
It isn't for everyone, but can save you money depending on how much you use your phone. You will find details of the standard roaming charges here. As data is quite pricey in the USA, compared to Europe, if you don't opt into World Traveller, make sure you turn off data roaming and also mobile data before you leave for the USA to prevent accidental data usage which can add up quite quickly.
