Solution

Another SS3 and Homehub 5 not working nicely

chrisbutty
4: Newbie

Hi, we have a flashing red and a solid yellow last light.  Network socket shows one solid and one flashing.  Registered successfully (apparently) 4 days ago.  IP issued (you'll be able to see that).  Reset SS3 and rebooted modem.  No port-forwarding visible in HH5 interface.  Upnp set to ON in the HH5 interface.  Can't find the MTU settings.

Read the trouble-shooting, here are my details.

Chris

@chrisbutty I've looked into this and it seems the resync was stuck in our system. As I’ve now processed this again for you, please reset the device once 6 hours has passed.

Please also ensure that the ports in the list below are open in your router. If you don’t have access to this information in your settings, you’ll need to speak with your ISP (internet service provider).

Ports and Protocols:

  • 8 – TCP/UDP
  • 50 – TCP/UDP
  • 53 – TCP/UDP
  • 67 – UDP
  • 68 – UDP
  • 123 – UDP
  • 500 – UDP
  • 1723 – TCP/UDP
  • 4500 – UDP
  • 33434 – 33445 – UDP

I really don't know about these Open Ports,   am job a network engineer,  I am just a consumer.  I need you,  your help or all the technology to work to meet the promisesbi bought (what the box said it would do)

@chrisbutty You'll need to contact your ISP (internet service provider) who'll be able to ensure these selected ports are open on your router.

I'm getting this error when I try to apply the application port forwarding rules to the device (Sure Signal)

Conflict
The game or application you’ve selected conflicts with an application () you’ve already assigned to another device.

Please remove the other application or select the same device.

There are no other firewall rules so hard to know how there is a conflict.

The application is set up as instructed (see attached).

Port clamping is enabled.

@chrisbutty Kindly contact your ISP (internet service provider) for further assistance.

They'll be able to ensure port-forwarding is set up is successfully.

Let us know how you get on.

I spent the day with them, no result.  They wanted to sell me stuff but I don;t need stuff, just the ports opened.  I wrote a complaint.  I still can't get this working.

I need pnp plug and play that works rather than having to do manual port forwarding.  All my existing pnp stuff (NAS and camera) works apart from the SureSignal v3.  Do you have a SS version with functioning pnp code if matched with a HH5?

That might be my only way through this.

@chrisbutty

Unfortunately we don't have a different version which would have alternative settings.

Opening the ports should resolve the issue. I understand you didn't have any luck speaking to your ISP previously, however I'd advise contacting them again and asking them to talk you through how to do this step by step.

Let us know how you get on.

Let's not get confused.  Your pnp doesn't work.  My isp is useless,  their router only manages pnp.  If you fix yours then we don't have to be network engineers and set manual pf settings.

I think they have finally agreed to send me a new hh5,  we'll see if it likes your pnp or respond to manual settings.
