Are Pay Monthly Xperia Z2s actually network locked?

Hi eforum,

I'm not sure of forum policy on resurrecting old threads so I've started a new one.

I was under the impression that newer Pay Monthly handsets such as the Xperia Z2/Z3 and Samsung Galaxy S5 were supplied network locked. Threads on the eForum seem to confirm that this was the new Vodafone policy.

However I just tried a 3 sim in my Xperia Z2 and it worked with no issues whatsover.

So am I just lucky? Has anyone else on the forum actually tried a non-Vodafone Sim in their Pay Monthly Z2/Z3 handset?

Hi, all pay monthly used to be unlocked, but as you say a little while back it was announced they would be network locked. I am guessing that at the minute there are some that are and some that aren't ! Sorry can't be more help !

All our Pay as you go handsets are locked, and although the majortiy of our Pay monthly handsets are, it's not all of them.
