Hi, I’m very annoyed due to purchasing a topup and go broadband stick today and assuming I would be given the new 3GB stick. Now I was confused as to why on the box it said 1GB but I thought this was giving information for something else. So I opened it up and started surfing and found my credit going down very quickly. I then looked on this forum and realised that there was a 1GB stick before the 3GB, something I didn’t know and suddenly realised that they’d give me that instead.

I’m extremely annoyed, I feel like I have been robbed in an attempt to get rid of old stock. Can someone tell me please if what’s happened is even allowed and if it would be possible to exchange the stick for the latest one?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi dan3699632

Thanks for the post and welcome to the eForum, although I'm sorry you've had to join us under such circumstances.

While I can appreciate you being unhappy at being given the 1GB stick, it's entirely possible that the person who sold it to you has made a genuine error and given you the wrong one, as I'm positive they wouldn't intentionally mislead you.

I'm guessing from your post that you bought it from a store?

If so I'd advise returning to the store to explain the situation, I'm sure that they'll be more than happy to sort out this mishap.

If you've ordered it over the phone you'll be able to get in touch with our telesales during normal business hours on 08080 044 479, 8-8 Monday-Friday, 9-6 Saturday and 10-6 Sunday.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Many Thanks

Okay good news, i went in yesterday half expecting to be refused an exchanged but i got one no questions asked. Even got 5 pounds free internet as i didn't have to pay for the credit I had used on the dongle I exchanged. Still annoyed it happened though, but the situation wasn't as bad as it could have been. I started to think that they may have given me the 1 gig stick even though the shop dosn't sell them anymore, in an attempt to get rid of old stock. But they do and it was just the case of me not being asked which one i would like and me assuming i would be given the latest one - which is the only one for sale through this website, as they never asked which product i wanted and just handed me the 1 gig when i asked for a top up and go broadband dongle.

However this aside and im extreamly pleased with the product, it works for me the same as a ordinary broadband connection (apart from downloading things, this is a bit slower) and I havent had any problems with it so far. I would reccomend it over any of the other networks. I have used 3 and t-mobile on a couple odd occasions in the past and these can be very slow and for the teen mobile quite alot of pages would not even load up. Also I have heard bad things about o2.

Thanks for the support i got on here anyways.

Though I have anougther questions if someone could please help. I saw advertised with the 1GB and 3GB top up and go dongles, a dongle advertised as being 5GB. Does anyone know what the item i saw was, or what it could have been. Im interested as even though I've had all this hassle, if for example this stick gives you 5GB of data for topping up £20 and the credit last for a month, I would probally want to purchase it. However it may of been a pay monthly item even with it being where it was.

Hi dan,

The 5GB allowance is for contract-based modems - I'm afraid it's not available on a pay-as-you-go basis :(

You can see our full range here :)
