Hi ChrisRC,

What light sequence is showing on your Sure Signal? This will help us understand where the issue is originating.

Everything looks fine with the details you've posted.

Thanks,

Matt B

I just have one solid light.  I have run through the procedure to reset the Sure Signal, but it just settles down to one solid light after a period of time.

Hi ChrisRC

This shows that there's no internet connection.

Please can you try a different Ethernet cable.

On your router, please ensure the following ports are open:

Ports to be opened for forwarding

  • 8 (TCP & UDP)
  • 50 (TCP & UDP)
  • 53  (TCP & UDP)
  • 67 (UDP)
  • 68 (UDP)
  • 123 (UDP)
  • 500 (UDP)
  • 1723 (TCP & UDP)
  • 4500 (UDP)
  • 33434 - 33445 (UDP)

IP addresses to be allowed on the router & firewall

  • 212.183.133.177-179
  • 212.183.133.181-182
  • 212.183.131.128-191

I can see it's registered successfully, so once the above steps have been followed please perform a reset:

  • Unplug the Ethernet cable from the Sure Signal
  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button
  • Plug the cable back in
  • Allow around one hour for the Sure Signal to come back online.

If you're still having the same results, please try this at another location such as a friend or family members.

I have managed to deal with opening the ports for forwarding, but I can't find out how to allow those four IP addresses.  Any idea how I can do this on a BT Home Hub 5?

I forgot to say, having opened the ports I tried rebooting the hub to see if that made any difference - unfortunately not.

Hi ChrisRC

We don't support routers however you'll find the information you're looking for here.

Have you managed to try this at another location?
