Bixby and S8 Launcher for S7 edge

For information:
There are a few S8 and bixby launchers going around which states you can use these on the S6/S7/S7 edge these have been posted on somr blogs, Facebook, XDA, please do not download them as there not real and will brick your phone.

A friend of mine download them today via Facebook onto his S7 and it stuffed his phone up something rotten and he couldn't use it.

The only way we got it sorted out was to factory reset the phone then update all the software and apps his phone is now back to normal and running ok.

Good to hear your friend resolved the situation by Hard Resetting. 

On using the s8 and s8+ phones in my local Samsung Experience Store I tried the Bixby button which just brought up information cards.

The feature is not yet available in the U.K and will follow other countries first too.

I expect to see another round of awaiting that particular update to the phone, and a few posts popping up asking if anyone has got it yet and if their phone will ever be compatible.  

The general advise I give is to refrain from side loading onto your phone, and instead stay within the realm of the official PlayStore. 

As an example > I recently thought about wanting Facebook Lite as the Official Facebook App in PlayStore is imo a resource hog.

Side loading would be an option but it's not something I'd do. I'll just continue to access Facebook via a URL shortcut on my home screen.

Hi BandOfBrothers,

Your right bixby was just a bunch of cards it was a mix of upday s health with some email features thrown in with the bixby logo pasted on at the top he couldn't get it to talking like Google now so basically it was useless.

And after the problems my friend had l throught it would be nice to warn people.

Just before I upgraded to a s7 edge my last update on my s5 before started having problems it was reading out my messages and calender events out which I found useful.

I am trying to get my 7 edge to do the same with no joy 

As much as I love my s7 there are features I miss another one was air browse were you hover your finger just above the screen and your message or whatever you hover pops up in a bubble 

But I guess horses for courses
