To the eForum Tech Team or anyone else who can help
I do not understand why I can not access the vodafone website using my BT home hub but can using my vodafone prepay dongle?
I mean it can not be my computer that is at fault or the Internet connection I am receiving because if that was the case then I could not access any website at all regardless of whether I was using my BT home hub or my vodafone prepay dongle or anything else that I could use to connect to the Internet but this is just not the case as the only problem I am receiving is from www.vodafone.co.uk although like I said before I can still access this from my vodafone dongle but only the dongle and since I used to be able to access the website two or three weeks ago from my BT home Hub why I can not do it now is a real puzzel to me that I hope anyone who reads this can answer?

go to http://bthomehub.home
the admin password will be on a card on the back of the hub
----
When youve entered the password once, it should remember it and you can bookmark that page to get to it quickly the next time.
Then all you need to do is open your browser and click the Disconnect/Connect

That is called the web gui and its where you make any config changes to your router.
You need to be on the page I showed in the image above, then see the web button near the top of the page which says "disconnect".
Pressing that button shouldnt cause you to lose sync with the exchange, it just drops the PPP session with your ISP. Once you have disconnected then click it again to bring up a new session and hopefully a new IP address.
That way is much quicker than having to wait for your router to reboot.. then obtain sync with the DSLAM (exchange), then connect agian to your ISP, which is what a full reboot does.
You can check your IP address here

YW.
I was trying to find a quick fix for you. Because I have a static IP, its not anything I can normally do.
However, with the assistance of my ISP (who know me and know I dont complain if there really is nothing wrong), as a favour they temporary gave me a dynamic IP.
Nothing has changed on my network, nothing has changed on my PC, nothing different about my ISP routing... yet it immediately started working when I got a new IP.
Therefore this was NOT my ISP and NOT me... but something Vodafone are doing which is blocking certain IP addresses.
Vodafone made some major server config changes on the w/e commencing 20th of Nov to the main domain server and added permanent redirects.
However I will need to go back on my static IP at some point as I run a server.. so they need to find a permanent solution.
Come on Vodafone, you really need to get this sorted. Ive gone way beyond the troubleshooting than any normal person can to try assist you on this without getting any decent feedback at all.
Troubleshooting broadband problems is what I do normally.. so if I say its not my network, then it most likely wont be. I cant work if the other side is ignoring the issue.

And please don't think that I don't appreciate your suggestions on how to get the Vodafone website working again using my BT home hub but if it does not work following a reset or reboot of my home hub and it doesn't then I have absolutely no faith that it will following all that you suggested and anyway why the hell should I after all it was some bright idea from some idiot who works in Vodafone to change or reconfigure their settings so why therefore should mess about with my settings when it is up to them not me to put things back the way they were before all this trouble so I may be just content to use my prepay dongle in future as I can only connect using this now.

What is your static IP address?
You can private message it to me if you don’t want to post on the forum.
