I have a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6. It came with Message and Call + pre installed. I wish to use the standard call and messaging programs so tried to uninstall it.
The app shows an uninstall updates and disable button. When used it says the app has been uninstalled and it disappears but after an overnight charge it re installs itself (even though the automatic update settings are unticked) This has happened several days running.
I have spoken to customer services today and they have suggested returning it to the store for a software reset but I get the impression this was because they do not have an answer and I am reluctant to lose the contents of the phone just on the off chance it may fix it. Anyone else had this problem.

It shouldn't. The app should appear in the list, but with "disabled" beside it. It won't appear in the app drawer, though. I've disabled a few apps and this is how they show up. It's possible that Message+ is set as the default messaging app and this could cause it to reactivate, I suppose. You'd need to change the default, which may be in the main Settings menu for the device. I've seen the option, but never used it, so I'm not completely sure where it is.

easy way to do this
roll back ALL vodaone applications (including start, discover and update) on the phone to factory default in app settings
Clear data on Message+ and Call+
THEN Disable Message+ and Call+
Once this is done you can Re-enable any vodafone applications/bloat you require afterwards.
It's an idea to disable the Vodafone Update app as it seems to be similar to the old My191 drama in the past using Nuances Selfservice application from the days of Symbiam

It is a concern that we're being forced onto a whatsapp based system with Messenger+ and the darned annoying, yet battery draining IMS framework. The GSMA's newest revenue stream for providers! But now it seems to include calls too!
