Can't remove the pattern security in Android

Hi,

I have an S6 with verrsion 6.0.1.

My issue is that I can't turn off the pattern security.  I normally just use the pin, but I decided to use the pattern instead. Unfortunatly I kept getting the pattern wrong, that wasn't a major issue as I used the master pin instead to get into the phone.

The issue is that I can't turn the pattern off and go back to the pin.

When I go into Settings- Lock screen and security-  Screen lock type. It wants me to put the pattern in first! I have tried putting in the pattern over 20 times and it just wants me to carry on trying

What can I do to go back to just using the pin, when I have the pin.

Any help greatly recieved......

Cheers,

Craig

hi

THanks for the advise but it didn't fix my issue.

I'm lost as how I can't just select something different to "pattern" when I have the master pin?

Looks like it will have to a factory reset 😞

I was hoping that helped.

Have you considered trying a Google search for more information.

If you do try a Factory reset then do remember to create a back up of your information.

You could try engaging with Samsung UK support online ?

If you have one local a Samsung Service Centre too.

Hi, if the suggestions provided above don't work, as a last resort a factory reset would reset the phone back to an as new state and you can set the lock screen to whatever security measure you want.
