Can't send or receive multimedia messages any more

The multimedia messaging function on my Microsoft Lumia phone has stopped working.  I've texted WEB to 40127 several times now, but haven't received the promised instructions as to how to re-do the settings.  Can you help, please?

If the text isn't received you can try updating the phone manually.

Settings are as below:

Pay monthly
APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
Username: wap
Password: wap
MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12
MMS Port: 8799
MCC: 234
MNC: 15
APN Type: default,mms

Pay as you go
APN: pp.vodafone.co.uk
Username: wap
Password: wap
MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12
MMS Port: 8799
MCC: 234
MNC: 15
APN Type: default, mms

From what I'm aware you should find the option:

"From your start screen, swipe right to reach the list of apps.
Tap on Settings and scroll down and tap on Access Point.
To create a new Access Point, tap on Add towards the left of the screen.
Now on the Settings page, enter the details as provided."

Thanks very much.  However, don't have the Access Point in apps on Settings.  So I've gone onto system settings and gone onto Mobile + SIM, SIM settings, edit MMS APN.  I've done what I thought was right, but it still doesn't work.  However, the subject titles aren't all the same; mine are:

APN

Username

Password

Authentication type

WAP gateway (URL)

WAP gateway port

MMSC port

Maximum MMS size

IP type

Please can you confirm which entry goes where?  I think I've done it wrong.  Many thanks.

Not sure if this might be more helpful as it shows where things should be....:-)

Hi @APRIL4266

If the phone was supplied direct by Vodafone, the settings will be preinstalled on the phone and will be correct.  You need to make sure you have selected the correct APN, pay monthly or pp is you are PAYG.

With Vodafone being your service provider, means they will need to provision your account for MMS messaging.  If you use live chat or call Vodafone on 191, they will be able to make sure the service is active on your account.  You also need to make sure you are using mobile data and not WiFi.

There is further information for you on the link below.

I can't send and receive picture messages

With MMS messaging becoming outdated, you could also try using WhatsApp or sending by email.

If you still want MMS, Vodafone offer an extra MMS bundle which can be added to your account.  Further info below.

I agree with AnnS.  the most likely explanation is that the service has for some reason been deactivated on your account.   As MMS are chargeable on all contracts, you would indeed be better off looking for alternative ways of sending pictures or other content.
