Capping data usage

Is there any way that my daughter's data usage can be capped at 0 rather than allowing her to go over and then I'm charged a further £6.50 per month. She receives the warning text but still manages to go over.  Can't the data just be stopped immediately the allowance runs out?

Hi, if her contract was taken out after May last year yes it can be capped, but prior to that no.

There is a setting in your online myvodafone that allows a person to bar data use.

Some phones also have data restrictions inbuilt or parental controls.

If a person manually turns off Mobile Data in the phones settings this would stop Mobile Data Connection and then the phone would only connect via any available wifi connection.

Hi @jc10

If your Daughter is going over her data allowance on a regular basis, it may be worth a call to Vodafone to increase the allowance, a more generous allowance would work out a lot cheaper than paying out of bundle monthly charges for extra data.

Apart from you disabling the data direct from your online account bars, and using the phone data monitoring application, the only other thing would be for your daughter to monitor her own usage and use WiFi where possible.
