Change from 24 Month Contract to 30 Day SIM Only - Questions

Hi, I am out of my 24 month contract and wish to change to a cheaper 30 Day Pay Monthly Sim Only Plan. There are a few questions I have if anyone can help.

Q1. I understand you can get 30 Day and 12 Month SIM Only Plans. I want a 30 Day. I have seen a clause that states that after 3 months you can change contract and say get a new phone bundle. Does the 3 month clause even apply to the 30 Day contract, or is it only for the 12 month contract? It seems weird for a 30 Day contract. I have also seen a forum answer that says when one person did this they added extra contract time onto their new bundle contract (e.g. they got a 24 month contract with new phone and Vodafone added extra months on).

Q2. I currently pay Band 4 Insurance on my pay monthly but, when I have looked to change to a 30 Day Sim Only on Vodafone online there did not seem to be an option to continue with phone insurance?

Q3. I currently get a 20% discount on the line rental aspect of my pay monthly plan as my wife is an NHS employee. When looking at the 30 Day SIM Only options available to me online, the discount still shows but, when I 'add to basket' the discount disapears?

Thanks in advance.

30 Day means exactly that, your contract is for 30 days and therefore can change or leave anytime you want.

The VEA (your NHS discount) is not applicable on 30 day SIM only plans.

Can't help you regarding the Insurance. Hopefully someone will be along to help.

Thank you

Regarding your insurance, The reason this is not an option ,Is that the insurance you currently have, Is for the plan too, So when you change your plan, the insurance drops off. Your best bet would be speak to an independent if you are after getting insurance on your handset again. However, They would need to have a look over your handset, With it not being new, they would take into consideration of its age and any current scratches or slight damage. Hope this helps

Yes, thanks!

I have a 30-day contract.   Yes, you can upgrade at any time - the documentation and My Vodafone online & in the app will show that.

The only thing I am bothered about is the loss of the insurance if I cancel my contract and go 30 day. There is not a phone I want to upgrade to at present if I smash this tomorrow. Most my friends have insurance from bank account but I don't have.
