Just here making a small complaint about the way Vodafone broadband works. I have been a broadband customer for about 10 months now and me and my ex have split up. I move out tomorrow and I have been fobbed off by several staff over the phones. What I asked for Vodafone was to transfer the details over to my ex as she wanted to continue to the service (i cannot get the service where I am moving to). Some of the Vodafone staff tell me this is possible, others have told me it isn't Eventually we came to the agreement this is not possible.
I was told I have to cancel my account and my ex has to set one up, this is fine and after being assured by the lady on the phone, she won't be charged for this if she was to provide the serial number of the current Vodafone router and there would be no connection charge as there's currently an active line in place, HOWEVER a pretty rude fella on the phone today told her as she was setting up her account that she has to pay a £50 charge for connection and that she can't use the router that's sat there because this has to be sent back. May I just say what a load of s*** that is, the line is there, the router is there and until the middle of November the connection is still active, so why is my ex being robbed £50.
I never make accounts to moan on forums, but I felt this absolute joke of a practice deserved a post.

Assuming reasonable relationship with your ex, why don't you keep paying until the end of the contract. She can then repay you. Alternatively send an email to the Vodafone chief executive. Google for his email address.
